Began With Our Own

We felt like pioneers when we took over ownership of the lodge in 1990. Here we were, a young couple lured by our own sense of adventure to offer world class northern Canadian fishing adventures to anyone, neophyte or avid northern fisher, who wants to spend soul-satisfying days on crystal clear lakes reeling in monster fish that sometimes seem to jump up and beg to be caught.

 

As our family grew to include four beautiful daughters, each birth was a pulse-raising adventure as Juanita had to be transported to hospital by float plane.

Eventually, the aviation business that plays an intrinsic role in our lodge and outpost services, became our second big adventure, as we moved our family to the nearby picturesque northern mining community of Flin Flon in order to establish our own sea plane company, Wings over Kississing.

Since 2006, despite rocky economies and world-wide instability, Wings has grown from 4 aircraft to 14, and spawned a helicopter company, Kississing Helicopters.

The expansion of our aircraft and chopper fleets has allowed us to serve other sectors, such as medical, mining and forestry. This has kept us strong as a company and fostered an environment of growth and optimism within our Kississing family in what were tough times globally.

Looking back over the last 5 years, not only has Wings over Kississing thrived, but Kississing Lake Lodge grew and improved more each year under the watchful eyes of the young, energetic and accomplished team that runs day-to-day operations and provides you with 5-Star service. Our Kississing family bucked the dismal trends that seemed inevitable between 2008-2011.

Nowadays, you’ll often find us both back at Kississing Lake Lodge, the scene of our first great adventure. All of our aviation endeavors carry the name of our first love, so it’s no wonder our spirits lift each time we touch down at our first and best wilderness home, Kississing Lake Lodge. We love to support our amazing team, meet new friends and say hello to old ones.
