“This was our third straight year there. What we savor most about Deerhorn is the uncommon combination of wilderness adventure and superb service. We love to fish in a setting where we can explore on our own while being the only people on the lake. But we also enjoy coming in after a long day to those great dinners at the lodge. We shared three shore lunches at the lodge, and these are always a highlight for the group. The wood fire and fresh fish in the frying pan is a wonderful way for all of us to meet up in the middle of the day. The fishing this year was outstanding, though we discovered yet again that the fish have this nasty little habit of swimming to new spots each year! We are all avid lake trout fisherman, so we always spend time on the main lake enjoying their aggressive fighting. Gold lures worked especially well this year. The portage lakes always lend a nice variety to our week, and between us we visited most of them. Action was especially hot one day on Wild Lake, with lots of nice walleye and pike caught and released. Until Next year . . .”

Deerhorn gave us many of the benefits of an outpost cabin but with the luxury of having the incredible team taking care of us each day. We knew it would be special when dinner was ready for us as we stepped off the float plane late Sunday night, only to be followed by hot coffee and breakfast the following morning. We boated over 70 pike the first day, including the first for each of the two boys. I commend the staff at Deerhorn for making everything so easy. We never had a boat problem, the food was superb and they are very gracious and giving."
